Our CPE program is designed in one-and two-year residencies or in single units, depending upon the learning needs of the students. We also offer Extended Units designed for individuals who would like to secure a Unit of CPE on a part-time basis.

St. Luke's Hospital is a 493-bed, full-service, nonprofit Hospital with more than 800 physicians on its medical staff, experts in more than 30 medical specialties. The Hospital had its beginnings in November of 1865. A small group of concerned Episcopalians met to decide how the Episcopal Church could respond to the health care needs of persons in the St. Louis area.

The Episcopal Church led this health care ministry called St. Luke's until 1948. At that time the Presbyterian Church (USA) joined the Episcopalians to co-sponsor the Hospital. Both continue to be involved in St. Luke's to this day.

We are a premier regional health care provider located in west St. Louis County. We offer specialized medical and surgical care services such as neurosurgery, orthopedics, cardiology, obstetrics/gynecology, thoracic surgery, and oncology to both inpatients and outpatients. In addition, the Hospital has an outstanding Sports Medicine Center, a Sleep Medicine and Research Center, a Brain and Spine Center, an Advanced Maternity Center, and a Breast Care Center.

St. Luke's also operates Surrey Place, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility with 20 residential-care rooms, a number of Urgent Care Centers throughout western, metropolitan St. Louis and a charitable Pediatric Care Clinic in North St. Louis County. In 2002, the Hospital opened a new fifty thousand square foot Cancer Center.

Just some of our recent honors include: U.S. News & World Report, America's Best Hospitals; Modern Maturity, Ten Leading Hospitals; St. Louis Business Journal, Best Places to Work; Solucient 100 Top Hospitals; HCIA Top 100 Hospitals Overall; and Surrey Place was listed as the Top Nursing Home in Missouri, Consumer Reports 2006.

Four adjoining doctors' office buildings are also located on the St. Luke's Hospital campus. St. Luke's Hospital's Institute for Health Education, located within a five-story atrium between two medical office buildings, offers an attractive setting for seminars and community health education programs.
