Extraordinary Generosity
Langenberg Gift Honors St. Luke's Chief of Medicine Paul Mennes, MD
Search the names of Oliver and Mary Langenberg on the Web and the first thing you will notice is how often they appear - not as page one newsmakers in search of renown, but as quiet supporters of some of the St. Louis area's most well-known cultural, educational and civic organizations.
St. Luke's Hospital is among the fortunate institutions to be supported by the Langenbergs, who made a substantial gift in honor of their personal physician, Paul A. Mennes, MD, chief of medicine for St. Luke's.
"Any time we have ever had a need, St. Luke's has been responsive," said Mary Langenberg. "It never occurred to us not to support the good work and dedication of Dr. Mennes. He is simply the best!"
Oliver describes his philanthropic philosophy quite simply. "It is what you do while you are living that counts," said Oliver. "Giving back to the place where you live, work and raise your family is what's important. It's all about returning back to the community what the community has given to me."
