Through Leadership and Philanthropy, Desmond E. Lee and Mary Ann Lee Have Helped Make Exceptional Healthcare Accessible
During his lifetime, E. Desmond (Des) Lee provided extraordinary support to St. Luke's through his leadership and the Advancing Excellence with Exceptional Care Campaign. Mary Ann Lee's involvement continues today with the Campaign and the Friends of St. Luke's. Their generous giving reflects both their diverse philanthropic interests and their dedication to helping St. Luke's provide exceptional and accessible healthcare to the St. Louis region.
"St. Luke's is a great hospital primarily because it has a magnificent philosophy that encourages all doctors to treat their patients as they would want to be treated themselves," said Des Lee, who was also an Emeritus St. Luke's Board Member. "St. Luke's is a powerhouse in clinical care and modern medical technology."
Des Lee passed away on January 12, 2010. We are grateful for the contributions he made to St. Luke's and our community.
