Extraordinary Generosity
Harlene & Marvin Wool Name Outpatient Cardiology Center
"Thanks to the generosity of Marvin and Harlene Wool, St. Luke's continues to expand cardiology services at the Desloge Outpatient Center," said Gary Olson, St. Luke's President & CEO. Charitable support of over $1 million has enabled St. Luke's Outpatient Cardiology program to enhance patient care by replacing a catheterization lab. Additionally, new cardiac and vascular testing equipment have been acquired.
In 1964, Marvin left his position as a chemist for St. Louis-based Dennis Chemicals and ventured out on his own. He formed M-R Plastics and Coatings, a company that formulated and manufactured specialty paints and coatings. The company grew quickly and was so successful that Marvin was able to sell the company a mere six years later. In 1973, Marvin bought back the company and formed a holding company named Dash Multi-Corp.
Almost 40 years later, Marvin remains the chairman, president and chief executive officer. Dash is composed of a growing family of quality companies, which produce a variety of plastic raw materials, coated fabrics and flooring products.
Marvin and his wife Harlene have been married for 60 years. They are proud of their three children, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. They have been active supporters of a variety of civic, religious and community service organizations throughout St. Louis. Harlene has been a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital for over 20 years. Marvin is also a member of the Saint Louis University Board of Trustees, Jewish Community Center of St. Louis, St. Andrews Board and The Technion Society.
"We are so impressed with the quality of care we receive from the doctors and nursing staff. We want to support St. Luke's Hospital by encouraging others in their charitable giving." - Harlene and Marvin Wool
