St. Luke's Hospital recently received a charitable donation of $1 million from The Saigh Foundation for the hospital's Pediatric Care Center. The donation will support the Center's medical staff in providing care for the economically disadvantaged and medically underserved children in St. Louis's north county region.
St. Luke's Pediatric Care Center offers care for children from birth to age 18 in a private practice setting rather than a clinic setting. The primary goal of the Center is to establish, on behalf of underserved families, and maintain access to healthcare through a primary care physician. The program provides ongoing care versus episodic and emergent care, which is often used by parents who do not access preventative health or do not have established services in their community.
"The Saigh Foundation's generous donation to our Pediatric Care Center allows St. Luke's to continue providing pediatric care services for the underserved and underinsured children in St. Louis city and county," says Gary Olson, President and CEO of St. Luke's. "We are truly appreciative of this support as we continue our outreach to the community."
The Saigh Foundation's mission is to enhance the quality of life in the St. Louis metropolitan region through support for charitable projects and initiatives, which primarily benefit children and youth through education and healthcare. These objectives will continue to support the community interests shown by Fred M. Saigh during his lifetime.
