Highest Ranking Local Hospital on 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare List

Modern Healthcare's national list ranks St. Luke's the 22nd best healthcare employer.

CHESTERFIELD, MO, October 29, 2008 - St. Luke's Hospital ranks 22nd on Modern Healthcare's "100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare" list, making it the highest ranking hospital in St. Louis.

This new workplace listing recognizes healthcare organizations that enable employees to perform at their optimum level to provide patients and customers with the best possible care and service.

To determine these workplaces, Modern Healthcare partnered with Best Companies Group, a Harrisburg, Pa.-based firm that conducts "best places to work" programs nationwide. It collected information from both the employer and employees and was open to all healthcare companies (providers, suppliers, payers, associations, etc.) with at least 25 employees.

Employers who volunteered to participate completed a survey detailing company policies, practices, benefits and demographics. Employees were asked an in-depth set of questions that resulted in an analysis of eight core areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.
