St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield has once again received a national award of excellence for its website, www.stlukes-stl.com from the World Wide Web Health Awards Program.
St. Luke's website offers many features for patients, such as:
- Pay Your Bill (April 2004)
- Send greeting cards to patients (effective April 2004)
- Pre-register for delivery at St. Luke's (March 2005)
- Register for classes and programs (December 2003)
- Register to receive free weekly email during pregnancy (June 2005)
St. Luke's website received Silver (second place) honors for Patient Education Information for a Hospital/Healthcare system website. The World Wide Web Health Awards recognizes the best health-related websites for consumers and professionals. The HIRC, a national clearinghouse for consumer health information programs and materials, organizes the World Wide Web Health Awards. The Web-based health awards are an extension of the HIRC's 10-year old National Health Information Awards (NHIA), the largest program of its kind in the United States.
Later this month, St. Luke's website will receive a new look with many other features, including a site just for physicians, patient care quality reports, online requests for physician appointments and online health e-updates. The goal of the revised website is to offer easier navigation and increased patient education information to promote St. Luke's as the region's leader in health information.
