Safety - is a measure of how safely care is delivered at a hospital. Safety measures include things like how often medications are given incorrectly, how often patient's develop bed sores, and how often accidental lacerations occur during a procedure. The lower the safety rating, the more safe a hospital is.
St. Luke's Hospital's safety rating is 14 percent lower (more safe) than comparable hospitals. This means that safety problems like those described above occur 14 percent less frequently at St. Luke's Hospital than they do in other comparable hospitals.
