Research Study Available to Patients with Small Vessel Disease of the Brain

St. Luke's Hyperbaric Research Unit Currently Seeking Participants

St. Luke's Hospital Hyperbaric Research Unit is sponsoring a study on the benefit of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for patients with small vessel disease of the brain.

Patients who have experienced a mini-stroke or TIA, abnormalities on neurological exams or exhibited other related symptoms commonly diagnosed through CT scan or MRI, may be eligible to participate.

Study Participation:

The study includes 16 components at no cost:
  • Three MRIs
  • 10 hyperbaric oxygen treatments
  • Three neurological examinations

St. Luke's Division of Hyperbaric Medicine and Problem Wound Management has been providing comprehensive, hospital-based hyperbaric medical services to the Midwest since 1973. It is the oldest hyperbaric facility in the St. Louis area and the only facility to offer 24-hour emergency care for critically ill patients.
