The Division of Hyperbaric Medicine & Problem Wound Management has been providing comprehensive, hospital-based hyperbaric medical services to the Midwest since 1973. We are the oldest hyperbaric facility in the St. Louis area and the only facility to offer 24 hour emergency care for critically ill patients. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is used in the treatment of bone and soft tissue injuries resulting from radiation therapy, chronic non-resolving osteomyelitis, select problem wounds, decompression illness from scuba diving, arterial gas embolism, gas gangrene, and carbon monoxide poisoning. The division offers state-of-the-art medical management of chronic wounds arising from diabetes, arterial insufficiency, venous insufficiency, pressure ulcers, and other medical conditions which affect healing.
