Guide to Caring
It's your life, we want you to live it.
At St. Luke's we see the patient as a whole person and believe that part of wellness includes attention to all aspects of one's health. With that in mind, we have several programs and services available for our patients.

Through our Social Services department, we provide counseling for patients and their families as they adjust to the impact of the diagnosis of cancer, and help them to understand all of the services and support that is available to them through St. Luke's Hospital and the community. This year, we have created two new resources for patients, the Guide to Care and the Passport to Care. When a patient is diagnosed with cancer at St. Luke's, they receive both in a discreet carrying case to respect their confidentiality. The portfolios contain general information on cancer from the American Cancer SocietyŽ and specific information regarding their own diagnosis and planned course of treatment. A calendar for future doctor appointments and a journal are included, as well as information on nutrition, exercise, yoga and spiritual resources.

Information on this and other topics are available to our cancer patients though the Health and Cancer Education Center located on the first floor of the East Medical Building.
