This year the members of the Center for Cancer Care at St. Luke's Hospital continued our Mission of treating cancer patients with the latest technology and most advanced treatment protocols, while maintaining our unique ability to focus on each patient as a whole person.
This report highlights specific information about the many services we offer cancer patients. We profile some of the community outreach events in which we participate and highlight the newest technology used by our physicians and staff. For the first time, we worked to raise awareness of the Center for Cancer Care through a marketing campaign. The promotion included our physicians, nurses and our patients who were gracious enough to share with the St. Louis community their experiences of living with cancer and being treated at St. Luke's. The campaign included television, radio and print advertisements along with features in the Health & Harmony magazine and an updated, more comprehensive website.
The challenges the Center for Cancer Care faces in the future range from changing rules and regulations to striving to provide cancer screenings, education and awareness to a greater number of people in our community. As always, our commitment to excellence will continue with ongoing focus on total patient care, growth within the cancer program, and participation in new research studies. We will continue to offer the latest technologies and treatments and help patients and their families understand their illness with open communication and compassion. Most importantly, it is the commitment to excellence that each physician and staff member makes to each patient's diagnosis, treatment and overall care that makes our oncology program successful.
