Breast Care Center
St. Luke's Breast Care Center is dedicated to providing highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic services for women who are concerned about, or diagnosed with, breast cancer. The Center and adjacent facilities offer a full range of diagnostic and treatment options, including the latest breast conservation techniques. In addition, physicians or a nurse practitioner can see patients on the same or next day for any abnormal findings or symptoms.
Since 1984, the Center has provided highly specialized services for women including:
- Physical examinations
- Digital screening and diagnostic mammography
- Breast ultrasound
- Sentinel node biopsy
- Fine needle aspiration biopsy
- Core biopsy
- Supportive counseling
- Education materials
- Instruction in breast self-examination
- Clinical research
- Breast MRI
- PET scans
- Genetic counseling
The American College of Radiology's Commission on Quality and Safety and the Commission on Breast Imaging has designated St. Luke's Hospital's Department of Radiology a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence. This designation is awarded only if a center has achieved accreditation by the ACR in stereotactic breast biopsy, breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsy, and by the ACR or an FDA-approved state accrediting body in mammography.
For more information, call 314-205-6491. The Breast Care Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Office visits are scheduled by appointment. The Center is located in the East Medical Building, on the second floor, with parking available in the East Parking Garage.
