St. Luke's Mammography Department is able to screen women for signs of breast cancer and can evaluate those who have symptoms of a breast disease. A mammogram is a safe, effective, low-dose X-ray procedure used to evaluate breast tissue. A screening mammogram can detect extremely small breast cancers that are too small to discover through breast self-examination or even through clinical breast examination. Diagnostic mammograms take additional X-rays for further study and are prescribed by a physician.
Screening and diagnostic mammograms are available in the Women's Center, Suite 200 East, on a "walk-in" basis Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are also available 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays. Call 314-205-6267 to make an appointment or request an appointment online.
