St. Luke's AACVPR-Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation program guides patients with heart disease. We teach and encourage lifestyle modifications designed to prevent the progression of cardiac disease. Cardiac Rehab involves supervised exercise, education, nutritional counseling, stress management, smoking cessation and more. A multidisciplinary team of certified professionals supervises all phases of the rehabilitation program.
St. Luke's proudly offers the only cardiac rehabilitation program in St. Louis with a psychologist and dietitian on staff. This is an excellent benefit to patients, as they have input and assistance from these professionals for the three-month duration of the program.
Patients who may benefit from this program include those who have/had:
- Diagnosed chest pain, stable angina
- Recent heart attack
- Recent bypass surgery
- Balloon angioplasty/stents
- Recent heart transplant
- Automatic implantable cardioverter defibrillator
- Recent valve replacement
