Speech language pathologists evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with communication disabilities, using special techniques for correction of speech and language disorders. Techniques include:
- memory and auditory retraining,
- voice, fluency, resonance and articulation retraining
- cognition retraining and
- training in alternative communication systems.
Speech language pathologists also evaluate and treat patients with swallowing difficulties.
