What is Urgent Care?
St. Luke's Urgent Care Centers provide professional medical attention for the treatment of minor injuries and illnesses without an appointment.
Who treats the patients?
Patients are seen by a registered nurse, a board-certified physician and, if needed, a lab or X-ray technician.
What types of illnesses and injuries are treated?
Staff at St. Luke's Urgent Care Centers diagnose and treat urgent needs such as sprains, fractures, eye injuries, cuts, rashes, burns, colds, flu symptoms and insect and animal bites. In addition, we offer sports, school and work physicals and pre-hospitalization and outpatient testing. Blood pressure checks are always free.
When are patients seen?
Patients at St. Luke's Urgent Care Centers are seen in the order in which they register. Occasionally, however, a patient with severe symptoms is taken to a room sooner so the staff can stabilize the patient. Often, patients are here only to receive lab work, an injection or X-ray. Since they do not need to see a physician, they may receive services sooner.
What about payment?
Most private and managed care insurance plans are accepted. If an insurance plan requires a co-pay for services, payment may be made by cash, personal check or credit card.
What about follow-up treatment?
Following treatment, St. Luke's Urgent Care staff will work with a patient's physician if follow-up care is needed or provide a referral if a patient does not have a physician.
What are the hours?
St. Luke's Urgent Care Centers are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week including special hours on holidays. No appointment is necessary.
