St. Luke's Urgent Care Centers
When you need prompt, minor medical emergency treatment, St. Luke's Urgent Care Centers offer eight locations throughout St. Louis, Jefferson, and St. Charles Counties.
Pre-employment drug screenings and examination must arrive before 6 p.m. at the Urgent Care Centers.

Meet Dr. Joseph F Karre, DO - Medical Director

Dr. Joe Karre serves as the Medical Director of the Occupational Health department at St. Luke's Hospital, bringing with him a wealth of experience in occupational medicine since 2015. As a proud member of the American Osteopathic College of Occupational and Preventive Medicine, he actively contributes by presenting at and regularly attending educational conferences. In October 2023, Dr. Karre received the Occupational Medicine Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ).

With a background as a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician and residency training at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Karre has held impactful roles, including serving as ther medical director for the Life Flight air ambulance service in Des Moines, Iowa, while working at Iowa Methodist Hospital, a level 1 trauma center. Additionally, he has been an Adult Trauma Life Suport instructor associated with Washington University Trauma Services while practicing emergency medicine at Progress West Hospital in O'Fallon, Missouri.

Since 2022, Dr. Karre has applied his expertise to benefit St. Luke's Hospital. A proud alumnus of Truman State University and A.T. Still University in Kirksville, he remains deeply connected to his academic roots. Outside his professional endeavors, Dr. Karre finds fulfillment in family life, being a devoted husband and father. Embracing leisure, he enjoys gold and passionately supports the St. Louis Cardinals in baseball and the Kansas City Chiefs in football.
