Chesterfield, Mo., July 11, 2022 -  St. Luke’s Hospital has named Andrew Bagnall as the healthcare network’s new president and chief executive officer, effective August 15, 2022.

Mr. Bagnall brings 17 years of experience in healthcare at the executive level and nearly 25 years of experience in the industry overall, most recently serving as the president and chief executive officer of Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) Wisconsin, which has more than 500 beds in its six hospitals across the state. Prior to his current role with HSHS, Andrew served as president and chief executive officer of HSHS hospitals in Eau Claire and Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Andrew joined HSHS in 2010, after serving as chief executive officer of Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, Iowa, and previously worked in leadership roles with other health care organizations in that state, including Grinnell Regional Medical Center, the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, and Genesis Health System. He earned his master’s degree in healthcare administration and bachelor’s degree from St. Ambrose University in Davenport.

David Price, board chair of St. Luke’s Hospital, stated, “Andrew Bagnall has extensive leadership experience and a track record of success in health systems, community hospitals, and long-term acute care settings. Andy shares St. Luke’s passion for providing the highest quality patient care, maintaining our unique position as the St. Louis community’s only independent health care network, and nurturing our excellent workplace culture.”

Bagnall succeeds Gary Olson in the top executive role at St. Luke’s, whose 37-year career with the hospital includes serving as the healthcare network’s president and chief executive officer from 1999 to 2015 and as its interim leader for several months in 2020 and 2022.
