Heart Care

Nuclear Cardiology

Nuclear medicine procedures are used to diagnose a variety of heart diseases and disorders. The most common heart scan identifies normal and abnormal blood flow to the heart muscle, measures how well the heart muscle pumps blood, and/or determines the existence or extent of damage to the heart muscle from a recent occurrence such as a heart attack.

Highly skilled professionals use specialized equipment and techniques to evaluate heart function and diagnose the extent of certain diseases. A team consisting of cardiologists and a radiologist evaluate the test and provide a comprehensive report to the referring physician.
