Dr. Brian Peterson: Knowing the Symptoms of Peripheral Artery Disease (KMOV-TV)

Do you experience persistent leg pain, especially while walking or moving? It could be more than just the aches of getting older. Peripheral artery disease is a common condition that causes narrowing in the arteries and in turn reduces blood flow to the legs and arms.

September marks Peripheral Artery Disease Awareness Month, which draws attention to the importance of understanding risk factors and symptoms of this vascular disease.

Dr. Brian Peterson, a vascular surgeon with St. Luke’s Heart & Vascular Institute, joined KMOV's Great Day St. Louis to talk about common symptoms, who is at risk and how it is treated.

For more information on vascular diseases or to schedule a vascular screening, call 314-205-6074.
