Vice President - Network Quality, Patient Safety and Medical Staff Affairs
Gretchen Blake is a quality leader with over 20 years of healthcare experience as a subject matter expert focused on clinical quality, process improvement, patient safety and regulatory compliance. Gretchen joined St. Luke’s in February of 2020 as the network vice president of quality, patient safety and medical staff affairs.
Prior to joining St. Luke’s, Gretchen spent a large portion of her career with Ascension Via Christi Health overseeing their acute care network consisting of seven hospitals and over 900 inpatient beds. Gretchen’s work involved integrating an organizational approach to quality and safety using the concept of high reliability and evidence-based practice. During this course, Gretchen has been a keynote speaker in several national seminars, sharing lessons learned from being a grassroots co-leader in the Wichita Citywide Collaborative. That effort achieved the Joint Commission and National Quality Forum Eisenberg Award for Innovation in Patient Safety and Quality, Washington, DC.
Gretchen earned a B.S. in Business Quality Management from Southwestern College, Winfield, KS and her M.S. in Leadership with certification as an executive in quality, also from Southwestern.
