John E. Mason, MD, FACS
Chief of Surgery, St. Luke's Hospital
John E. Mason, MD serves as the Chief of Surgery for St. Luke’s Hospital. Dr. Mason is a surgeon, physician, and partner at St. Louis Surgical Consultants, and general surgery section chief, both at St. Luke’s Hospital. Dr. Mason brings nearly thirty years of medical and surgical expertise and excellence to the chief of surgery position, and to the community he serves. Dr. Mason is a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine where he received both the Sam Wells Surgical Research Award, and the Harvey Butcher Surgery Award. He completed his residency in pediatric surgery at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, his research fellowship in cancer genetics, laboratory, at Washington University Medical School, and his residency in general surgery at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
