Taylor and his family give an additional $5 million to the Gary Olson Endowment Fund at St. Luke's HospitalChesterfield, Mo., June 18, 2015 - Enterprise Holdings founder Jack C. Taylor and his family have given an additional gift of $5 million to the Gary Olson Endowment Fund at St. Luke's Hospital.
The fund supports the hospital's ability to continue to provide care for patients with insufficient financial resources, provide funding for innovations and collaborations to ensure the best possible care for patients, improve current technology and recruit high quality staff and physicians.
"St. Luke's Hospital is very grateful to have such generous support from the Taylor family," said Christine M. Candio, RN, FACHE, St. Luke's Hospital president and chief executive officer. "This gift significantly strengthens our ability to improve the quality of life for our patients and the community."
Jack C. Taylor is the founder of Enterprise Holdings, the company that operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands.
Last July, Jack C. Taylor, Jo Ann Taylor Kindle and the Crawford Taylor Foundation contributed a combined total of $5 million which established the Gary Olson Endowment Fund at St. Luke's. Jo Ann Taylor Kindle, Jack Taylor's daughter, is president of the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the company's philanthropic arm. She also manages the Crawford Taylor Foundation, the Taylor family charity.
Gary Olson retired as St. Luke's president and chief executive officer in January, and St. Luke's board of directors created the fund in recognition of his substantial contributions to both St. Luke's and the communities it serves.
