St. Luke's Hospital Launches Public Phase of $40 Million Capital Campaign with New Outpatient Services Building Dedication

Chesterfield, Mo., January 23, 2017 - St. Luke's Hospital is launching the public phase of its $40 million Advancing Excellence with Exceptional Care Campaign in conjunction with the dedication of its new outpatient services building today.

Through the early, generous support of individual, business and foundation donors, the campaign has already raised more than $30.6 million in gifts and pledges. The campaign supports the hospital's capital and endowment needs, including funds for construction of the new outpatient services building on the hospital's west campus and the establishment of the Gary Olson Endowment Fund.

The campaign, led by Hugh Scott, III, St. Luke's Hospital board of directors member, is securing resources to help assure that patients served by St. Luke's continue to have access to exceptional healthcare through expanded services focused on keeping them well.

"Our campaign has concluded its quiet phase with nearly 100 gifts and pledges already received, including seven gifts of $1 million and above," said Gene Toombs, St. Luke's Hospital board of directors chairman. "This is a testament to the generosity of our community and our donors' commitment to St. Luke's continued excellence in healthcare."

St. Luke's Outpatient Center Building B, the new $40 million five-story, 106,000-square-foot building, adjoins St. Luke's Mr. and Mrs. Theodore P. Desloge, Jr. Outpatient Center. Construction was completed in December 2016, and work continues to finish interior spaces to accommodate the services moving to the site.

The new building provides much needed space for new physician offices and the expansion of St. Luke's physical therapy and cardiac rehabilitation services. St. Luke's services that will also relocate to the building include these: nutrition wellness and diabetes center; anticoagulation clinic; and wound care and hyperbaric medicine.

"The dedication of St. Luke's new outpatient services building is a significant event for St. Luke's Hospital and healthcare in our region," said Christine M. Candio, RN, FACHE, St. Luke's Hospital president and chief executive officer. "As our community grows and changes, we work to stay ahead of patient needs by continuing to provide convenient access to the highest quality care and services possible. Through funds raised in our capital campaign, we can continue improving the quality of life for our patients and the community."
