Chesterfield, Mo., December 27, 2016 - St. Luke's Hospital is a recipient of multiple revenue cycle honors including the Healthcare Financial Management Association's (HFMA) 2016 MAP Award for High Performance in Revenue Cycle and Healthcare Business Insights' 2016 Revenue Cycle Award, and the hospital has also earned recognition as an Adopter of the HFMA's Patient Financial Communication Best Practices.

"Our culture of teamwork among all areas of the hospital and with our patients is highlighted by these recognitions," said Laura Holt, St. Luke's Hospital director of revenue cycle management. "We are committed to partnering with all of our patients so they understand how to access the healthcare services they need and how to manage their healthcare costs."
  • HFMA MAP Award for High Performance - St. Luke's is one of only 13 national recipients this year and the only winner in the St. Louis area for the third consecutive year. St. Luke's demonstrates innovative revenue cycle practices that deliver sustainable financial performance in the areas of revenue cycle processes, financial performance, patient satisfaction and adoption of the patient-centered recommendations and best practices embodied in HFMA's Healthcare Dollars & Sense initiatives. MAP stands for measure performance, apply evidence-based strategies for improvement and perform to the highest standards to improve financial results and patient satisfaction.
  • Healthcare Business Insights' 2016 Revenue Cycle Award - St. Luke's is one of only seven hospitals or healthcare systems across the country to receive the honor. The hospital is a two-time winner of this award, having been recognized in 2015 as well. The award is given to distinguished organizations that have demonstrated exceptional revenue cycle performance, based on an extensive analysis of the organization's year--over-year quantitative outcomes across key performance indicators including specific functions within patient access, clinical documentation improvement, billing, financial assistance and more.
  • Adopter of the HFMA's Patient Financial Communications Best Practices - As a Best Practices Adopter, St. Luke's demonstrates that it follows nearly 100 best practices covering all aspects of financial interactions that take place in a variety of care settings. St. Luke's joins a select group of hospitals, health systems, and physician practices that have received this first-of-its-kind, national recognition.
