St. Luke's Hospital Campaign Tops $30 Million Goal

Donors contributed more than $30.4 million to support St. Luke's mission to improve the quality of life for patients and the community.

CHESTERFIELD, MO, April 19, 2011 - St. Luke's Hospital announces that its Advancing Excellence with Exceptional Care Campaign raised more than $30.4 million, surpassing the $30 million goal.

The campaign, which began in the fall of 2005, was the largest in St. Luke's history. Its objective was to raise funds for facility developments and improvements, technology acquisition, quality enhancements and physician recruitment.

"We deeply appreciate the generosity of all of our donors, from grateful patients, board members, volunteers, physicians and employees to community leaders, corporations and foundations," said Gary Olson, St. Luke's Hospital president and chief executive officer. "Their investments will enable St. Luke's Hospital to continue to provide the highest quality patient care possible and to strive to improve the overall quality of life for our patients and the community."

John B. "Jack" Biggs, Jr., former St. Luke's board of directors chairman, served as campaign chairman during the leadership and strategic planning phase of the initiative, and Hugh Scott III, St. Luke's board member, succeeded Biggs as campaign chairman in 2009 during the public phase.

"As we look to the future, St. Luke's remains committed to serving our community as a premier regional healthcare provider," said Ned Lemkemeier, St. Luke's board of directors chairman.
