Women's Services

Medical Team - Breast Health Services

A dedicated team of specially trained physicians, nurses and technologists work together across multiple disciplines to provide you and every breast health patient with a comprehensive approach to your care.

Breast radiologists, breast surgeons, women's health nurse practitioners, breast care coordinators and mammography X-ray technologists offer personalized breast health risk assessment, evaluation and treatment.

If needed, women also have access to genetic counseling and testing, high-risk management, comprehensive medical and radiation oncology treatments, breast reconstruction, cancer care coordination, rehabilitation and support services.

Medical Director - St. Luke's Women's Center
Nanette Wendel, MD, FACS
Dr. Wendel is the medical director of the St. Luke's Women's Center. She received her medical degree at Northwestern University Medical School and completed her residencies at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and University of Nebraska Medical Center. Prior to coming to St. Luke's Women's Center in 2014, she was in private practice in Bradenton, Florida.

 

Medical Director – Mammography
Megan Gau, MD
Dr. Gau is the medical director of mammography. She received her medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology at The Medical College of Wisconsin. Prior to coming to St. Luke's, she was in a local private practice for 15 years.

 

Radiologists Specializing in Breast Health
Carl Mazzola, MD
Dr. Mazzola received his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina and an internship at Forest Park Hospital.
Valerie C. Reichert, MD
Dr. Reichert is a board-certified radiologist who specializes in breast imaging and breast interventional procedures, and she is the medical director at St. Luke’s Center for Diagnostic Imaging – Midwest Breast Care Center. Dr. Reichert received her medical degree from Stanford University and completed residency and fellowship training at Washington University School of Medicine/Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology.

 

Breast Surgeons
Nanette Wendel, MD, FACS
Dr. Wendel is the medical director of the St. Luke's Women's Center. She received her medical degree at Northwestern University Medical School and completed her residencies at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and University of Nebraska Medical Center. Prior to coming to St. Luke's Women's Center in 2014, she was in private practice in Bradenton, Florida.
Tonya Martin-Dunlap, MD
Tonya Martin-Dunlap, MD, FACS, is a fellowship trained breast surgeon. Dr. Martin-Dunlap earned her medical degree and completed her general surgery residency at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She then completed her fellowship in breast surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

 

Radiation Oncologists
Jason Edwards, MD, PhD
Dr. Edwards earned his PhD in cellular and integrative physiology at Indiana University. He then received his medical degree at the University of Missouri and completed his surgical internship and radiation oncology residency at the University of Kentucky's Chandler Medical Center. His expertise is focused on integrating sophisticated technology into successful treatment for cancer patients. He is trained and has special interest in high dose rate (HDR) and low dose rate (LDR) GYN brachytherapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and image guided radiation therapy (IGRT).

 

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons
Scott Geiger, MD
Dr. Geiger earned his medical degree from Saint Louis University. He then served as a Naval Flight Surgeon in San Diego, CA, before returning to Saint Louis University to complete his plastic surgery residency. Dr. Geiger specializes in delivering comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgery with an emphasis on aesthetic & reconstructive breast surgery, body contouring, facial aesthetic surgery, cancer reconstruction, as well as hand and peripheral nerve surgery.
John Hulsen, III, MD
Dr. Hulsen is a fellowship-trained, board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon at Chesterfield Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Hulsen earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University of Medicine and completed his residency in integrated plastic surgery at Ohio State University. He then completed his fellowship in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery at Harvard Medical School.Dr. Hulsen specializes in delivering aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, breast and body. He is particularly interested in comprehensive breast surgery, body contouring after weight loss, facial rejuvenation and the surgical treatment of migraine headaches.

 

Women's Health Nurse Practitioner
Jill Flores, WHNP-BC
Jill is a board-certified women's health nurse practitioner. She earned her master's degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and has previously worked as an obstetrics and gynecology nurse practitioner.
