St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, has been recognized as a 2022-2023 Best Hospital in 15 categories by U.S. News & World Report. In addition to ranking 5th in Missouri and 4th in the St. Louis Metro area in Best Regional Hospitals, St. Luke’s Hospital received “High Performing” ratings in 13 specialty areas, including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, aortic valve surgery, back surgery (spinal fusion), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip fracture, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, and lung cancer surgery.

St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital received “High Performing” ratings in 3 specialty areas, including hip fracture, spinal fusion, and pneumonia. U.S. News evaluated each hospital's performance using a variety of measures such as survival and complication rates, patient experience and level of nursing care, factoring in data from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

This distinction places St. Luke's Hospital among the top 5 percent of hospitals nationwide based on an analysis of patient experience data. St. Luke's Hospital is the ONLY hospital in Missouri that has achieved this award for 13 years in a row!

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), along with key stakeholders, developed a methodology to calculate and display overall hospital-level quality using a star rating system of one to five stars. St. Luke's Hospital received the highest rating, five stars, and placed in the top 13 percent of all hospitals nationwide. St. Luke's was also one of only three hospitals in the St. Louis Metro Area to receive the rating.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), along with key stakeholders, developed a methodology to calculate and display overall Skilled Nursing Facility quality using a star rating system of one to five stars. St. Luke's Surrey Place received the highest rating, 5 Stars, and the only Skilled Nursing Facility in the area to achieve this Star Rating from CMS. This rating places St. Luke’s Surrey Place in the Top 10% of all Skilled Nursing Facilities nationwide.

Each August, the much-anticipated “Top Doctors” issue hits the newsstands, naming the best of the best in each specialty in the field of medicine. In spectacular fashion, 85 of our St. Luke’s physicians graced the 2022 issue! Dr. Keith Mankowitz, Dr. Jeremy Leidenfrost, and Dr. Shane LaRue were individually highlighted in this very important edition.

St. Luke’s Hospital has been named one of the Best Hospitals for Maternity by U.S. News & World Report. In its inaugural list of Best Hospitals for Maternity, U.S. News has recognized St. Luke’s as “High Performing” in caring for patients with uncomplicated pregnancies. To be recognized among the Best Hospitals for Maternity, hospitals had to excel on multiple quality metrics that matter to expectant families, including complication rates, C-sections, whether births were scheduled too early in pregnancy and how successfully each hospital supported breastfeeding. The evaluation reflects 2019 hospital data related to uncomplicated pregnancies.

St. Luke's Surrey Place has been named a "Best Nursing Home for Short-Stay Rehabilitation" by U.S. News & World Report. This distinction places St. Luke's Surrey Place among the top 1.5 percent of nursing homes in Missouri to receive this short-stay rehabilitation top rating.

For the 9th year in a row, St. Luke’s Hospital was recognized with multiple 2023 Women’s Choice Award® honors for excellence in healthcare in 13 categories. The Women's Choice Award® is the only designation that takes into consideration the preferences of women when selecting a hospital.

The 2023 awards recognize St. Luke’s Hospital, Chesterfield as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Experience, and a Best Hospital for Comprehensive Breast Care, Cancer Care, Heart Care, Mammogram Imaging, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Obstetrics, Orthopedics, Patient Safety, Stroke Care, and Women’s Services.

St. Luke’s Des Peres Hospital received 2023 America’s Best Hospitals designations for Bariatric Surgery, and Orthopedics.

The Spirit of Women Health Network named St. Luke's Hospital a Spirit of Women Premier Hospital. The national designation is based on a comprehensive evaluation of innovation and excellence in women's healthcare and community outreach. The standards were developed by the Spirit of Women Health Network in consultation with the Office on Women's Health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

St. Luke’s Hospital’s Heart & Vascular Institute has earned the top three-star rating from The TVT Registry™ (Transcatheter Valve Therapy), a benchmarking tool developed to track patient safety and real-world outcomes related to the transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure. The three out of three-star rating, which denotes the highest category of quality, places St. Luke’s Hospital among only 8% of programs in the United States to receive the rating.

St. Luke’s Hospital’s Heart & Vascular Institute has earned the top three-star rating from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) for its patient care and outcomes in isolated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) procedures. The three out of three-star rating, which denotes the highest category of quality, places St. Luke’s Hospital among the elite for heart bypass surgery in the United States and Canada.

St. Luke’s Hospital has been named one of the Best Places to Work in St. Louis by the St. Louis Business Journal, most recently in 2021. In addition, St. Luke’s also received the 2021 Advancement of Women Award from the St. Louis Business Journal.

St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital is a recipient of the 2020 Get With The Guidelines®-Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospital's commitment to ensuring heart failure patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines founded in the latest scientific evidence. The goal is speeding recovery and reducing hospital readmissions for heart failure patients. This marks the tenth year that St. Luke's Des Peres Hospital has been recognized with a quality achievement award for heart failure and the eighth year as a Gold Plus provider.
