St. Luke's Hospital has been named one of America's 50 Best Hospitals for the seventh year in a row, making it the only hospital in St. Louis to achieve the designation since the inception of this Healthgrades list.
As one of America's 50 Best Hospitals, St. Luke's ranks among the top one percent of hospitals in the nation for clinical excellence based on survival and complication rates. According to Healthgrades, an independent healthcare ratings company, patients admitted to an America's 50 Best Hospital are more likely to have successful treatment without major complications.

According to a 2013 Healthgrades study, St. Luke's Hospital ranks best in the St. Louis region* for overall cardiac services and cardiac surgery. Healthgrades has also named St. Luke's number one in Missouri for neurosurgery, neurosciences (neurosurgery and stroke treatment combined), overall pulmonary services, critical care and gastrointestinal medical treatment.
The study evaluated the performance of more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide across nearly 30 of the most common conditions and procedures. The analysis is based on Medicare records from 2009 through 2011.

Outstanding Patient Experience Award™, Healthgrades® 2011-2013
St. Luke's Hospital is a recipient of the Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award. This distinction ranks St. Luke's among the top five percent of hospitals nationwide based on an analysis of patient satisfaction data. To determine its 2013 Outstanding Patient Experience Award recipients, Healthgrades analyzed HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey data obtained from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for April 2011 to March 2012. Hospitals had to meet survey response size and clinical quality thresholds in order to be eligible for the award.
Emergency Medicine Excellence Award™, Healthgrades® 2011-2012
St. Luke's Hospital was named a top hospital for emergency medical care by Healthgrades. The 2012 Emergency Medicine Excellence Award was based on an analysis of more than seven million Medicare patient records from 2008 to 2010, and it was awarded to the top five percent of hospitals nationwide. The report included patients admitted to the hospital from the emergency department for further medical treatment, representing the full continuum of patient care.
Women's Health Excellence Award™, Healthgrades® 2009-2013
St. Luke's Hospital received the Women's Health Excellence Award in 2009 through 2013 from Healthgrades. The recognition distinguishes St. Luke's as a top-performing hospital in women's health, which includes care provided to women for common conditions treated and procedures performed in the hospital such as heart care, vascular surgery, stroke care, respiratory services, orthopedic surgery and spine surgery.
To identify the 2013 Women's Health Excellence Award recipients, it examined hospitalization records from 2009 through 2011 for female patients at the nation's nearly 4,500 non-government hospitals that treat Medicare patients.

This award recognizes companies in a variety of industries, and the Top 50 companies are selected based on their contributions to the St. Louis region and how they have positively affected the future of the business community.
Spirit of Women® Premier Hospital, Spirit of Women Health Network®
The Spirit of Women Health Network named St. Luke's Hospital a Spirit of Women Premier Hospital. The national designation is based on a comprehensive evaluation of innovation and excellence in women's healthcare and community outreach. The standards were developed by the Spirit of Women Health Network in consultation with the Office on Women's Health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Spirit of Women is a coalition of hospitals and healthcare providers across the United States that ascribes to the highest standards of excellence in women's health, education and community outreach. St. Luke's is the only Spirit of Women hospital in St. Louis.
100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare, Modern Healthcare 2008
St. Luke's Hospital ranked 22nd on Modern Healthcare's inaugural 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare list, making it the highest ranking hospital in St. Louis.
