Diane Ray, RN, FACHE

St. Luke’s Hospital Senior Vice President,
and Network Chief Nursing Officer
For over 45 years, Diane Ray, RN, a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, has passionately worked to improve the quality of life for St. Luke’s Hospital patients and the community. As St. Luke’s senior vice president, and Network chief nursing officer Diane is a member of St. Luke’s senior executive leadership team. In her role, she oversees many clinical departments including inpatient care services, patient placement, the emergency department, clinical education, home health, hospice, care management, and Surrey Place, a skilled nursing facility.

Diane is committed to creating an exceptional patient experience, and inspiring continuous process improvement. She serves as the chair of St. Luke’s patient experience committee, and through her leadership, St. Luke’s Hospital has been the recipient of the Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience award for their exceptional HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) survey results for the past 13 years. In addition, her unwavering dedication to patient care excellence has led to many enhancements in quality, safety and patient outcomes.

Throughout her career at St. Luke’s, Diane has served in many leadership positions. Prior to her current role, she was a director of nursing for six years. Diane also held the role of head nurse in a number of specialty areas including the medical/surgical intensive care unit, neuroscience services and telemetry. In addition to these duties, she served as the department of nursing quality assessment/improvement coordinator for six years. She joined St. Luke’s in 1977 as a dietary department employee and became a staff nurse in the neurosurgery department in 1981.

Diane received her associate degree in nursing from Meramec Community College and a bachelor’s degree in nursing and her master’s in business administration from Maryville University.
