For more than 35 years, Diane Ray, RN, a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, has passionately worked to improve the quality of life for St. Luke's Hospital patients and the community. Serving as St. Luke's vice president of patient services and chief nursing officer since 2012, Ray is also a member of St. Luke's senior leadership team. She is committed to creating an exceptional patient experience, inspiring continuous process improvement and mentoring future leaders and innovators.
Ray serves as the chair of St. Luke's patient satisfaction committee, and through her leadership, all HCAHPS
(Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems)
domains the past four years have been above the national threshold, and the hospital's overall rating has been above the national benchmark, increasing seven percent since 2012. In addition, her unwavering dedication to patient care excellence has led to many enhancements in quality and outcomes.
Throughout her tenure at St. Luke's, Ray has served in many leadership positions. Prior to her current role, she was a director of nursing for six years and held the role of head nurse in a number of specialty areas, including neuroscience services and intensive care.
Ray received her bachelor's degree in nursing and her master's in business administration from Maryville University. She serves on the boards of directors of Midwest Stone Institute and St. Luke's Rehabilitation Hospital, and she is a member of the board of trustees of the Episcopal Presbyterian Health Trust.
