Olivia Cossins, D.O.
Dr. Cossins is a graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona. Outside of work, she enjoys exercising, walking with her fiancé and dog, and travelling!
Amy DeVeydt, M.D.
Dr. DeVeydt is a graduate of Saint louis University School of Medicine and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Arkansas. She has interests in addiction medicine and mental health. During her free time, she enjoys Razorback football, staying active, and spending time with her husband and dog!
Kristen Scholl, M.D.
Dr. Scholl is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed her undergraduate studies at Southeastern University. She chose family medicine because of how challenging the specialty can be to understand the complexities of multidisciplinary systems and the ability to treat patients of all ages and in all stages of life. She enjoys travelling and playing basketball in her free time.
Akanksh “Shaun” Shetty, D.O.
Dr. Shetty is a graduate of Midwestern University – Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Shetty has interests in sports medicine and behavioral health and is passionate about developing long-term relationships with his patients. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their three cats, watching sports, and collecting vinyls!
Alexander Holbrook, D.O.
Dr. Holbrook graduated from Lincoln Memorial University - Debusk College if Osteopathic Medicine, he did a Master of Science in medical microbiology and immunology and Creighton university and did his undergrad studies at Truman State University. His particular interests are in maximizing preventative care for his patients to give them long, healthy lives. If he wasn’t a physician, he would have become a virologist. If he had to give his medical school self a piece of advice it would be that “life goes on even while in school, don’t forget to live it.”
James Liu, D.O.
Dr. Liu is a graduate of ATSU Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and did his undergraduate studies at Michigan State University. He has particular interests in graduate medical education, procedures, preventative care, and urgent care. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with his wife. If he wasn’t a physician, Dr. Liu would’ve liked to start his own business. His advice to his medical school self is “No matter how far you go in life, don’t forget about the individuals who have helped get you to where you are today.”
Anna Livingstone, D.O.
Dr. Livingstone is a graduate of ATSU Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and did her undergraduate studies at Truman State University. She has particular interests in preventative medicine, women’s health, pediatrics, and OMM. If she wasn’t in medicine, she would have become a dance instructor! Her advice to her medical school self is to “enjoy the little things, eat ice cream (and maybe brownies too), and know that Taco Bell is open until 3am PRN.”
Cole Pluff, M.D.
Dr. Pluff graduated from Creighton University and did his undergraduate studies at Saint Louis University! He particularly enjoys outpatient primary care. If he weren’t a physician, he would have become an MMA fighter! If he had to give his medical school self a piece of advice it would be to “stay balanced.”

Kay Baalman, M.D.
Dr. Baalman graduated from UIC Rockford’s rural medicine program and did her undergraduate studies at SIU-Carbondale. She has particular interests in geriatric medicine, nursing home, hospice, women’s health, and procedures! If she wasn’t in medicine she would have become a Medical textbook illustrator or hairdresser. Her piece of advice to her medical school self is that “If it’s not hard, it’s probably not worth it.”
Nicholas Gutzmer, D.O.
Dr. Gutzmer is a graduate of ATSU Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and did his undergraduate studies at Northwest Missouri State University. He has particular interests in sports medicine, joint injections, mental health, and addiction medicine. If he wasn’t a physician, he would have liked to go into sports management or become an athletic director. If he had to give his medical school self a piece of advice it would be “The hours are long, but the days are short. Don’t sweat the small stuff because you won’t remember that grade you got on that test or practical that you studied for, but you will never forget the memories you made with your friends along the way. Cherish the laughs and don’t forget to find a reason to smile every day
Kirstie Mabitad, D.O.
Dr. Mabitad is a graduate of ATSU-SOMA and did her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at UNLV. She has particular interest in helping underserved communities and geriatric population, procedures, and preventative medicine. If she wasn’t a physician, she would’ve became a psychologist or a musician (both of her parents are musicians)! If she had to give her medical school self a piece of advice it would be “you can’t take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself first. Live a little, relax often, and don’t sweat the small stuff.”
Efren Shahabeddin, M.D.
Dr. Shahabeddin graduated from UAG and is originally from Los Angeles, California. His particular interests are preventative care and empowering patients to take control over their health or management of their chronic disease. For him, it’s all about improving the patient quality of life. Additionally, he enjoys the opportunity to perform clinical procedures, such as trigger point injections, I&D of abscesses, lesion removals, and suturing after shave biopsies. If he didn’t go into medicine, he would have liked to become a video game designer. His one piece of advice that he would give to his medical school self is to “appreciate every opportunity that comes your way and take it one step at a time.”
