About
Dr. Diana Jiang is a highly accomplished physician at St. Luke’s who is dedicated to improving patient care and quality outcomes. After graduating with distinction from her undergraduate studies at Cornell University, she attended medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, where she was awarded with the Medical Fund Society Prize in Surgery. She then went on to complete her General Surgery residency at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, where she served as the Administrative Chief Resident.
Dr. Jiang is known for her enthusiasm, honesty, and commitment to patient education. She excels at helping her patients understand their medical condition and treatment options (both surgical and nonsurgical), such that they can make the decision that is most consistent with their values and desired outcomes. To advance patient care on a larger scale, Dr. Jiang has also held several leadership roles to help make system-wide improvements to healthcare. In addition to contributing to the design of operative and procedural safety checklists, she previously spearheaded multiple communication workflow improvements to help reduce missed injuries in trauma patients. She has given 20+ unique lectures to share her expertise with fellow medical professionals and trainees, on topics ranging from the science of surgical disease and procedural “how-tos”, to the implementation of technological advancements in surgery and surgical ethics.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Jiang has always valued service to the community and is a previous Americorps member. She loves logic puzzles, board games, computers, and her family (including her two cats, August and May). Her other hobbies include figure-skating, classical piano, photography, painting, and exploring new places
