Uterine Fibroids

Treatment for Uterine Fibroids

Fibroids are benign (non-cancerous) uterine growths that can lead to heavy bleeding, pelvic pressure, or pain.

Treatment for fibroids can include:

  • Monitoring with ultrasound
  • Hormonal treatment*
  • IUD for bleeding control
  • Uterine fibroid embolization
  • Myomectomy or hysterectomy, when appropriate

* Hormone therapy can be safe and effective for many women. Your provider will review your medical history and discuss the best options for you.
