Andrew J. Mitchelson, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic hand surgeon at St. Luke’s. He treats a wide range of hand, wrist, and upper extremity conditions, both with and without surgery. Dr. Mitchelson helps patients with fractures, nerve injuries, arthritis, and injuries from trauma or overuse, working to restore movement and improve their daily lives.
Dr. Mitchelson earned his medical degree and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Hamot. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Mitchelson focuses on patient-centered care by educating patients, maintaining open communication, and creating treatment plans tailored to each individual. His goal is to support every patient’s recovery and long-term health.
