Dr. Blaine T. Manning is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon at St. Luke's specializing in spinal disorders such as stenosis, disk herniations, sciatica, spondylolisthesis, spondylosis, degenerative cervical, thoracic, or lumbar disease, deformity, and trauma. He also specializes in correcting failed surgery and revision procedures. Dr. Manning has extensive experience with the latest techniques in spine surgery, including motion preservation and disc replacement (non-fusion surgery), navigation, robotics, minimally invasive spine surgery, and outpatient spine surgery.

Dr. Manning is a native of Springfield, IL, and attended medical school at Rush Medical College (Chicago, IL). During medical training, Dr. Manning was active in clinical research and was the principal or co-investigator on nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and abstract presentations. He completed a five-year residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Missouri (Columbia, MO). During his residency training, Dr. Manning served as a resident surgeon and physician for the University of Missouri Tiger Athletics. After residency, Dr. Manning was selected for 1 of 54 North American AO Spine Fellowships and completed subspecialty training in spine surgery and reconstruction at the Medical College of Georgia (Augusta, GA).
