Michael Schachter, M.D., is a concierge medicine physician at St. Luke’s, providing personalized, comprehensive primary care. Board-certified in family medicine, he brings extensive leadership and academic experience from his roles as a medical director and associate professor, reflecting a broad, well-rounded approach to care.

Inspired at an early age by his father, a dedicated pediatrician, he developed a deep appreciation for the role of medicine in building meaningful, lasting relationships. Dr. Schachter prioritizes attentive, personalized care and supports patients with a thoughtful, whole-person perspective. His concierge model enables him to dedicate the time and focus each patient deserves, building lasting relationships based on trust and individualized attention.

Dr. Schachter’s path in medicine took him around the world for training and education, broadening his perspective and deepening his commitment to patient care. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine, New York Program, after completing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Indiana University. He completed his family medicine residency at UPMC Susquehanna and has a particular interest in preventive medicine.

Ultimately, that journey brought him back to St. Louis nine years ago, where he now serves the same community that helped start his career. He believes that exceptional primary care is rooted in trust, continuity, and a genuine connection between physician and patient.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Schachter enjoys playing and listening to music and spending time with his wife and four children.
