Childbirth
At St. Luke's, you are empowered to plan your childbirth experience. Our OB/GYNs and hospital maternity staff will provide you with a safe environment to have the birth experience you want and give your baby the best beginning.
Postpartum Care
Your care team will provide immediate postpartum care in the hospital, monitoring your health to make sure you are ready to go home safely.
Your OB will also schedule you for a complete postpartum exam about 6 to 12 weeks after delivery. In addition to a physical exam to see how well you're healing, your care provider will also talk to you about how you are adjusting to life with a new baby. This checkup is also a chance for you to get answers to questions you may have about life after giving birth:
- Your mood and emotional well-being.
- How well you're sleeping.
- Birth control and birth spacing.
- Baby care and feeding.
- When you can start having sex again.
- What you can do about pain with sex or not wanting to have sex.
